Condition descriptions — new sets Where a new set’s box is not in perfect, factory-fresh condition, we describe it using the following terms so you know exactly what to expect:
- Light creasing — minor creases to the box that do not affect its overall shape.
- Shelf wear — general wear, typically to the box edges and corners, from handling or display.
- Creasing or denting — creasing or denting that does affect the overall shape of the box.
- Box opened to check contents — occasionally we open a box to verify contents are complete; this will always be stated in the listing.
None of the above relate to the contents of the box. The sealed bags, instructions and parts inside a new set are unaffected by any of these box conditions unless the listing specifically says otherwise.
Condition descriptions — used (pre-loved) sets
- All used sets are checked by a person to confirm they are complete before listing.
- Because checking is done by humans, mistakes can occasionally happen. If we get it wrong, we will put it right — see our Refunds and Returns Policy.
- Any missing parts identified on a used set are always replaced by us before the set is sold.
- Every used set will include all parts required to build the model, all minifigures (in fair, usable condition), and the original instructions.
- Original spare parts (the small number of spares LEGO includes with new sets) may or may not be included with a used set,.
- Some used sets are supplied in a replacement box rather than the original LEGO box. Where this is the case it will be stated in the listing. All contents and instructions are still included unless the listing says otherwise.
3. Where we deliver
We currently sell and deliver to UK mainland addresses only. We are unable to ship to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or any address outside the UK mainland. If you are unsure whether we can deliver to your address, please contact us before ordering.
4. Prices and payment
- All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and, where applicable, are inclusive of UK VAT at the prevailing rate.
- We take reasonable care to ensure prices and descriptions are correct, but errors can occasionally occur. If we discover a pricing error after you have ordered, we will contact you before processing your order and give you the option to confirm at the correct price or cancel.
- Payment is taken at the time of order via the payment methods offered at checkout.
- 5. Order acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. We will send an order confirmation email, but this does not mean your order has been accepted. A contract between us is only formed when we dispatch your item(s) and send you a dispatch confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order at any time before dispatch (for example, if a used set turns out to have an issue on final check, or in the event of a pricing or stock error), in which case we will notify you and refund any payment taken in full.
6. Delivery
- We aim to dispatch orders promptly, usually 1-2 working days, orders placed between Thursday and Sunday may take longer to be dispatched.
- Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered. Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full.
- If your delivery is significantly delayed, please contact us.
7. Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)
As a UK consumer buying at a distance (online), you have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to change your mind and cancel your order.
- You can cancel from the moment you place your order up to 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receives the goods.
- To cancel, simply contact us by email at info@bricktraders.co.uk with your order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
- Once you’ve told us you want to cancel, you then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
- We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or of you providing evidence you’ve sent them back, if earlier), including the standard delivery cost you paid.
- You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us, unless the item is faulty or not as described.
- Please see our Refunds and Returns Policy for full detail on the condition goods must be returned in and how to arrange a return.
This cancellation right is separate from, and in addition to, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 described below.
8. Your statutory rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods we supply must be:
- As described — matching the description given in the listing, including any condition notes (e.g. light creasing, shelf wear, replacement box).
- Of satisfactory quality — taking into account the condition described (a used set is not expected to be in “as new” condition, but must match what was described and be fit for building the model).
- Fit for purpose.
If a set does not meet these standards — for example, a used set is missing parts that weren’t disclosed, or a new set arrives more damaged than described — you have a right to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances and how soon after delivery the fault is found. This is entirely separate from the 14-day cooling-off period above and is not time-limited to 14 days.
9. Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
